Some pictures taken on Friday. It's still a bit of a wasteland around there and not much actually going on.

Some subsidence issues will need to be addressed!

The marble kerbstones are still there if you want some!

Took some pictures on Friday, I hope to be to post them either later today or tomorrow. I also saw a truckload of rubble being delivered but nothing much else going on.

Yes, I have been seeing stuff going on from out of my window. Time for a nose around I think and some pictures.

In October there was a lot of activity in the phase 2 area - thousands of tons of hardcore have been dumped to build up the level of the land - I suspect to the height of the "wall".

There are two trucks delivering loads every 20 mins and a bulldozer pushing it all around.

The wall has also been tided up and a lot of the rebar exposed - don't know if thats to demolish or to add to!

Here are a couple of images taken from the model in the marina offices - I don't think these are 100% correct as the existing site is not built to this model exactly.

Well a few months on, and not much has changed on Phase 2.

The blue fence has been removed, and hundreds of tons of soil have been piled up!

Oceanville was on sale for €1 if I recall correctly - plus the debts, permits and rebuilding cost!

I wonder who is going to occupy those 10,930 sq metres of housing?

Watch this space .... one might conclude the CM-Albufeira is having difficulty spending all the extra revenue coming from its recent tourist boom ... expect to see more tarting up .. they could buy Oceanville ..

This is what the phase 2 marina area looks like in Feb 2017...

A NEW MARINA DE ALBUFEIRA IS BEING BORN – 2ND STAGE

APPROVAL OF THE ALLOTMENT OPERATIONS OF THE 2ND STAGE OF THE RECREATIONAL PORT OF ALBUFEIRA DETAIL PLAN (MARINA DE ALBUFEIRA)

• On the 14th of February 2017 on a meeting at the City Hall of Albufeira, the allotment operations were approved allowing the issue of the Allotment Licenses of the 2nd stage of the Recreational Port of Albufeira Detail Plan (Marina de Albufeira).
• With the issue of the Allotment Licenses will be formed 36 lots with building permit of 10.930 m2 of construction meant for Housing, 22.379 m2 meant for Tourism Apartments, 13.060 m2 meant for commerce/Services and 26.680 m2 meant for Hotels.
• The construction work will start in March, being estimate to be concluded within a 8 month period.
• With the accomplishment of the 2nd Stage construction work the urban plan designed in 2007, by Professor Sidónio Pardal, will be concluded, predicting for the 2nd stage a lower construction density and compatibility between the green spaces, the water basins and the other equipments. The green spaces are dimensioned in order to allow their forestation. The detail plan includes 51% of green spaces and 21% of wet area and is compatible with the Albufeira Urban Plan and surrounding green structure, not covered by the last plan.

I have closed the previous item on this topic (http://www.albufeira.com/forum/marina-phase-2-construction_topic5921.html) with a redirect to here. And moved the topic from 'Works in the old Town' to a more appropriate location.

All contributions gratefully received as work progresses - or does not!

I'll be glad if they get rid off or finish the "great wall" :-)

I'm flying over tomorrow so will see if anything has started.

Just noticed there is also a new laundry area (washing machines + spinners) in the marina.
