Love the Algarve but prefer to get out and about that's why we chose June and September when usually the temperatures are just perfect. I could say if someone just wants heat go to a Turkish bath but of course I wouldn't say that as we all like different things.

No complaining here, we love it.
Anyway, quite a lot of wind through the night which is easing a little now, we currently have 25 degree's so still going to be very hot. IPMA say 36 for today, if, as previous days, that gets bettered... scorchio!
Clear blue skies, not a cloud to be seen... only decision now is, what time for the first beer!

LOL Steve, I'm going to have to do an update later and strongly suspect that 'g' word will be needed! Wink

Well, a day with a difference.  At 12.30pm we were up to 33 and climbing nicely and then quite suddenly the wind changed direction and swung from the south to east, north east, this, by 1.30pm cooled us down and took us back to 30 degree’s. This then started to creep up again and at 5.00pm we hit IPMA’s predicted 36, then someone turned the fan off and the wind died completely, you can guess what happened next… yep, it went up a whole one degree, 37 at 6.25pm so IPMA just missed out.

Overall it’s been a … what’s that ‘G’ word I’m looking for? Good, Great, String, Glorious? Yes that’s it, a truly Glorious day with a capital G.

Again very windy through the night but remained warm only dropping to 22, quite breezy now but as yesterday it is easing, we're already up to 25 and IPMA forecast 33 which I can easily see happening. No cloud but there is a haze way out to sea.
Yesterday afternoon, if you walked out of the or a buliding it was like stepping into a blast furnace, it's hot, very hot!

Hairdryer - 35 and a near gale blowing.
Just got out of the pool and by the time I'd walked 10 yards to my towel I was dry.

If yesterday was a one word day, today is two.. Glorious and scorchio!!!
IPMA's 33 was achieved as early as 1.00pm, at 4.00pm we hit 38, yes 38! that proved the peak as it slipped off that just after 6.15pm, it's currently only 36!!!
We have breeze down here but nothing like Dicey reports, I think we're both equidistant each side of Albufeira (we're about 4kms west?).
Anyway, it's still that hot and sunny, swmbo is still out there and our trip out for dinner is on hold. No worries, I'll get a glass of tinto... gawd, this is why we love the Algarve.

Cooling off period?
Quite breezy this morning and a few clouds around, some of them a bit black looking.
However at 7am it's still 24.
IPMA forecasting 27 for today, 26 for Friday & Saturday.
BBC has it at 31, 27 and 29.
Low 30's from Monday and then 35+ from midweek onwards.

Yep, quite a change. Firstly no wind through the night but we do now have a breeze, cloud about but seem's to be dissapating and now already 25 degree's, so again I think IPMA will have called it on the low side, the BBC's 31 would seem more likely (and possibly still low, we'll see).
It's still more than acceptable though!

And that's how it turned out, think it must be the wind/breeze direction which has been very changeable all day. So, the breeze stayed with us, the earlier cloud cleared although there have been clouds about, IPMA's 27 went past at 1.00pm and we made 32 at 5.15pm and it's still at that but I don't think will rise any higher, so the BBC shout was pretty good.
Whilst we love the heat, today has been much more comfortable than yesterdays 38. Yesterday was in the pool, get out have a beer, in the pool, get out have beer... and so on. Today was have beer, have beer, have beer, pop in pool if you want to, have beer, have.... I think I'll get used to it, eventually! Wink

Today is following yesterday, a calm night, we listened to the waves rolling in, very theraputic, but we wake to find it's clouded over. As yesterday this is moving out and we can see we will have the blue skies with the broken white fluffy clouds as yesterday.
Current temp is 23 with zero breeze, I guess therefore, assuming the pattern does do as yesterday that we'll have similar temps. It's all very acceptable.
