Does anyone know what the problem is with Hoppa   ?? Angry crowds left waiting at Faro over 2 hrs or more for transfers already booked and paid for , friend had to take a local taxi and pay again as did many others

Overbooking, staff not turning up, not enough resources generally. This lot attract many complaints on various travel forums.

People demand cheap, but they moan like wotsit when cheap = bare bones service.

Use them on a regular basis and have never waited more than 15 minutes at Faro Airport for private taxi transfer, always on time for return journey too

A couple of years ago friends who always previously had your experience CCout, ended up taking longer to get from Faro to Albufeira than it had taken to get to Faro from Glasgow. They don't use them anymore...

Maybe just a bad hair day. A couple of flights coming in late, careful arrangements all screwed, general choas and I suspect no management to be seen.

With the present arrangements at Faro ... it is simply bound to happen. And it doesn`t look like this airport will ever cope with an increasing summer rush ... at least, not very well.
Can`t blame the owners ... they saw it coming and planned their expansion ... but it just happened to co-incide with a big switch from eastern med to western parts.

Hi all, just returned from Portugal this afternoon and just made flight by the skin of our teeth! Our Hoppa private taxi was due to pick us up at 08:15 and we were waiting from 08:00 as requested by Hoppa. By 08:30 there was still no sign of our taxi and becoming anxious as our flight departed Faro at 11:05. We phoned Hoppa and got told that our taxi would not be picking us up as there was a problem with the drive and he was in Spain! That was it, no apology, no nothing! Hoppa wouldn't even have contacted us to let us know. We got told to get another taxi and provide a receipt in order for us to be reimbursed. I have been using Hoppa for approximately 10 years but never again, I wouldn't be able to trust them and their total disregard for their customers is awful. Luckily we were able to phone a friend with a taxi who in turn drove us to the airport. Also, when we arrived at Faro a week ago we'd to wait 20 minutes for our driver who should've been there to meet us, that's partly the privilege of a private taxi.

Sign of the times I am afraid. They are so busy at the moment that a lost customer is not important to them. Same applies to restaurants and bars in the square and on the Strip. When the bad times come again they will change. The problem is that most people will go back to them if they are cheapest, despite vowing never to use them again, because most folk have the moral depth of a Tory politician.

(Help me down off this high horse someone...)

Just used Yellowfish last Thursday for the 100th time and never ever had the slightest of problems.

I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

Yellowfish are excellent - not over priced.

I've recommended them for 40+ guests so far, never had a problem in 18months.

We have used Bravotur for the past number of years and have never had any problems. They are always waiting at airport no matter how early/late our flight has been and they are very prompt to collect us for return to airport. The cost of the private transfer is €60 for 2 adults return trip. You pay €40 on arrival and €20 on return trip. Very reliable.
