Do banks or bureau de change in Albufeira accept Bank of Ireland / Northern Bank or Danske Bank sterling £20 notes ?
These are Bank notes are used in Northern Ireland but maybe not used the rest of the UK .

I don't know but if you don't want to get ripped off on the rate given I would suggest that you change your £ into Euros before you leave the UK, and that does not include at the airport

I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

You will ALWAYS get about 2% more € for £ in the UK than here. And correct a lot of places won't change NI banknotes as they don't know what they are.

Thanks for the replies Diceyuk and Cubsur. I suspected that the banks etc wouldn't recognise the notes. Will exchange in the U.K. as you both suggest.
