Can anyone recommend a good tutor? We own a property in Albufeira and we would like to learn some conversational Portuguese. Good manners I suppose?< ="text/" ="safari-extension://com.ebay.safari.myebaymanager-QYHMMGCMJR/8848a3bc//helpers/preHelper.js">

Can`t help you newkid...But on same subject lovely lady on complex we stay insists on talking to our 2 year old Grandaughter in Portuguese.
Just hello goodbye numbers etc but it is surprising how easy she picks it up because every time she sees the lady it is bon dias boa tarde amanha without any prompting.
Will be putting us to shame before long Embarrassed.

Hi I am new to this forum and on searching I came across your post
I also own an apartment and thought the same and I am now having two lessons a week from different tutors
Both are through Skype. The one I found in the local English Algarve resident newspaper when I was over earlier in the year. His name is Andrew an English guy who lives in Tavira. His email andrewtroberts@gmail.com. I pay him £10 per hour
The other lesson is with a Portuguese lady that has set up a little school in Essex called portugues on demand. She is a qualified teacher and we follow text books and do homework. I pay her £28 per hour. Both are very different in their approach and compliment each other.
It's not that easy but it starts to sink in eventually. I struggle with speaking it properly
Cristiane email is student@potugueseondemand.co.uk. Tel no 0800 970 8686

I would recommend Andrew first as he will start with the very basics Cristiane is more advance but it depends on how serious you want to take it.
I wanted mainly to be able to understand all the bills I get and to communicate with the tax department etc as we rent our apartment out during the summer

Hope this helps
