Obviously the algarve area is quieter in the winter months, but which places are still open and recommend?

Adega do David, Snack Bar O Jorge, Il Cappuccino, Indian Sizzler, C19, O Catriao, Happy House and Dona Leonor are all favourites of ours.

Out here in Acoteias virtually everywhere is open now - most reopened last week for half term & Valentines Day.
Out of 22 restaurants/bars in the village there are only 2 that haven't reopened yet but even those are getting ready.
By the end of February they'll all be up & running.
I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

Very much agree with Algarveaddick with list above. Also open are Casa de Fonte and Casa de Mar up near the tunnel. Doce Jardim in the square reopened tonight. Tic Tac Bar and Sir Harry's and Virtigo are all open in the square and most restaurants at Fishermans Beach are open and packed out most days when the sun is out. Urban Pizza, the Italian opposite Jo Jos and, of course, Jo Jos. Lots open.
