Missing result above Quarteirense B 5 - 0 Lagos B but later overturned by the Disciplinary Committee for various breaches of rule (ineligible players etc) and they fined €650. They were also fined €600 breaches of rule associated with their previous game with Marítimo Olhanense, which was not played or at least the result was never recorded. They will also be docked 3 points.
So that's €1200 in fines to pay for a club whose average gate when i have been there is about 50.

LAST WEEKEND'S RESULTS NEXT WEEKEND'S GAMES Segunda Liga Portimonense go to the last game knowing that they need a draw to secure the Segunda Division title. On Sunday morning they beat Olhanense 3-2, a poor result considering that Olhanense played almost the last 30 minutes with just nine men, following two rapid sendings off. Portimonense were 3-1 up after 55 minutes, Olhanense had their first sending off then promptly scored. Then a second visitor saw red, they somehow held out to prevent further damage. Attendance 4417, almost a full house with the traditional free admission. Portimonense are two points ahead of Aves. Should they win next Sunday at Santa Clara, the title is theirs. A draw should do, as the head to head record is one win each, goals 2-2 on agggregate. Portimonense's goal difference is eight better. Olhanense's last game before relegation is at home to Penafiel on Sunday at 1600hrs / 4pm CAMPEONATO NACIONAL SENIORES SECOND PHASE PROMOTION GROUP SOUTH Final group games Real 2-1 Sacavenense Farense 3-1 SC Praiense Fátima 1-1 Louletano Torreense 0-0 Operário Lagoa Farense finish third, not going to make the playoffs by 1 point. Louletano will join them again in the third tier next season. CAMPEONATO NACIONAL SENIORES SECOND PHASE RELEGATION GROUP G Final game Casa Pia 2-2 Armacenenses Armancenses finish 5th of 8, therefore also safe in the third tier for next season. CAMPEONATO NACIONAL SENIORES SECOND PHASE RELEGATION GROUP H Final game At. Malveira 2-1 Barreirense Pinhalnovense 4-0 Lusitano VRSA 1º Dezembro 1-1 Moura Almancilense 1-2 Atlético CP Both Algarve teams were safe before this. ALGARVE LEAGUE DIVISION ONE SECOND PHASE PROMOTION GROUP Quarteirense 3-1 Ferreiras GD Lagoa 3-2 Quarteira Esp. Lagos 4-2 Moncarapachense Big surprise was the massive defeat for table toppers Moncarapachense. Coupled with the win by Quarteirense over Ferreiras, that now leads to a winner takes all game between Moncarapachense and Quarteirense at Moncarapacho next Sunday at 1600hrs / 5pm. Actually a draw will do for Quarteirense, as they are two points ahead. Ferreiras are out of the running for promotion, but a big win for them at home to Lagoa next Sunday (same time) and a defeat for Moncarapachense could put them into second place on goal difference. Second place finish gets a spot next season in the national FA Cup. The other, meaningless, game next Sunday is Quarteira SC v Lagos, also at 1700hrs / 5pm. ALGARVE LEAGUE DIVISION ONE SECOND PHASE RELEGATION GROUP Silves 3-2 Culatrense ImortaL Albufeira 4-1 11 Esperanças Messinense 1-0 Faro e Benfica 11 Esperanças were already doomed before this one. Only one team definitely goes down. Nest Sunday's final round of games is therefore pretty meaningless, note the different ko times which could have been a problem had something been riding on them! Faro e Benfica vs Silves at Penha, Faro, ko 1915hrs Culatrense vs Imortal Albufeira at Penha, Faro, ko 1700hrs 11 Esperanças vs Messinense at Horta da Areia, Faro, ALGARVE LEAGUE DIVISION TWO The chaotic results reporting system means that some of last Saturday's results are not on the official website. Zerozero.pt has even de-activated its page for this league as so many results are missing! That which I do know : Guia 0 - 0 Paderne Lagos B 3 - 3 Monchique Santaluziense 2 - 0 Olhanense B Carvoeiro United 3 - 2 Quarteirense B Unknown Sambrasense v Mexilhoeira Grande Maritimo Olhanense v Albufeira Futsal Algarve CF v 4 Ao Cubo We do know that Algarve CF are champions and will be promoted. Next Sunday, at various times, final round of matches Olhanense B v Mentes do Desporto at Olhão Municipal Stadium ko 1800hrs Quarteirense B v Santaluiziense ko 1800hrs Monchique v Carvoeiro United ko 1800hrs Albufeira Futsal v Lagos B at Albfueira 3G pitch ko 1700hrs 4 Ao Cubo v Odiáxere at Olhão Municipal Stadium ko 1600hrs Mexilhoeira Grande v AlgarveCF ko 1800hrs Paderne v Sambrasense ko 1800hrs ALGARVE CUP FINAL Saturday 27th May, venue and ko time NOT YET PUBLISHED. IDIOTS, such contempt for fans who might want to plan to make the trip. it's Quarteirense v Lusitano VRSA. Women's football National second tier promotion playoffs Guia had no game last weekend. Next Sunday at home to Qunitajense, ko 1600hrs. They need to win.

FINAL WEEK RESULTS The final week of the domestic league season. Almost all the issues had already been decided. Segunda Liga Portimonense claimed the Segunda Liga championship trophy to add to the promotion spot they had already in the bag. Santa Clara 1 Portimonense 2 att 579 Olhanense 3 Penafiel 1 att 173. Olhanense were of course already relegated. CAMPEONATO NACIONAL SENIORES All done and dusted last week for the Algarve teams. None will be involved in the play off series for either the championship nor to avoid relegation. Olhanense (relegated) and Moncarpachense (promoted) will join Farense, Louletano, Lusitano VRSA, Almancil and Armacanenses in what should be an interesting little setup next season. ALGARVE LEAGUE DIVISION ONE SECOND PHASE PROMOTION GROUP Moncarapachense 3-1 Quarteirense Ferreiras 2-3 GD Lagoa Quarteira 0-6 Esp. Lagos Moncarapachense won that last vital game that will see them into the National League's third tier next season. Quarteirense finished second, one point behind, and Ferreiras third, a long way behind. Those two will be allowed to enter the Portguuese FA Cup next season by way of some reward. ALGARVE LEAGUE DIVISION ONE SECOND PHASE RELEGATION GROUP Faro e Benfica 3-2 Silves Culatrense 0-1 Imortal Albufeira 11 Esperanças 2-2 Messinense 11 Esperanças are relegated to the Second Division. ALGARVE LEAGUE DIVISION TWO The new that Quarteirense B had those massive fines rescinded and the lost six points restored caused some confusion in the lower orders of the table. but nothing affected the top places. It continues to baffle me why results of games played on Saturday at 6pm are not on any official website at 3pm the following Monday! But the games were of no import. Algarve Clube Futebol, based in Salir, finished top seven points ahead of Sambrasense. Those two will be promoted to the First Division. Albufeira's other team, Albufeira FC, finished fourth, Paderne 6th and Guia 9th. ALGARVE CUP FINAL SATURDAY 27th MAY Lusitano VRSA v Quarteirense ko 1730hrs at the Olhãnense Stadium WOMENS FOOTBALL National third tier second phase promotion playoff Guia 3-4 Quintajense That ends Guia's creditable season in which they finished second in their regional division over the regular season and reached the third round of the FA cup. Not bad for the Algarve region's only active 11 a side women's team. And that's it until early August, when the Portuguese League Cup kicks off. The Third tier gets going the first weekend of September and the Algarve League the last weekend of September. |

I would love to be able to tell you the result of the Algarve Cup final played last Saturday evening. But it is not even on the official Algarve FA website nor any other website which I have visited.
Pathetic.

Went for a long walk into the hills above Monchique and chanced upon the facilties of JD Monchique, who play in the Algarve league Second Division. Synthetic grasss.
The changing rooms etc are in that building with the red roof down behind the goal. Where do fans stand? I wondered too, but see last picture. They stand under that tree, where is there is a small shed that obviously does duty as a bar. Nice view, but basic or what? I have never seen a game there as bus times on a Saturday are not conducive to travel. |

Looks like a very similar setup to that at Aljezur, who operated a team in the Algarve league a few years back.
Theirs is a boxed in affair too, synthetic pitch with floodlights, and cut out of the side/top of a hill. With one or two viewing points for the locals under tree cover.

Must have cost a fortune to build, funded by the local council, but what an asset. UK councils should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. Their lack of willingness to provide acceptable sports facilities is causing a rapid and massive decline in participation. The local Sunday football league where I used to live will, next season, have the lowest number of teams since 1970 and less than half the number of ten years ago!

Agreed...my last involvement with lower league football was 15 years ago when we had to make sure the pitch was clear of dog s*** before play commenced. That`s how good the facilities are.

A trip to sunny Monchique? Now there's an event. They will still be in the second Division so it won't be a match with Imortal unless in the Cup. Nice One.
League starts end September, expect fixtures a couple of weeks ahead.

"Fair chance theyll be played at Est Algarve I suppose."
I would guess so, 25,000 fans vs 5,000 even with the cost of stadium rental taken into account. We shall see. Portimonense complete league fixture list is at http://www.portimonense.pt/pt_jogos_SAD.php but obviously most games will not be at 1600hrs. Info on dates and ko times as soon as available.
