Hi Guys,

Just found this forum, great site.

I've looked around the posts for longer term lets but have specific requirements in which I need some help, I hope somebody here will find this request mutually beneficial.

I'm living in UK, absolutely love the Old Town Albufeira having been there half dozen or so times. I've often thought of purchasing something but never had the final determination to do so.

I'm now looking at the possibility of renting something that I can switch to and from the UK to, need to sleep up to 4 though it would predominantly just be me. I'd need internet access if that could be arranged.

Location wise, as stated, would like to be near the old town, possibly even the Marina if anyone has accommodation over that end, though not essential.

I could quite easily agree to a 6 month let, but given the time of year now, would also like to benefit from the summer months next year, so perhaps a 12 month let might be best, with a view to longer if everything works out.

What I don't particularly want is anything too small or anything at holiday let rates Smile

Thanks, Andy.

Have a look at this website, the only problem  is it might be compulsary to take a longer contract out with it being an estate agency.
Also have a look at the 123 online paper there always seems to be lots of private rentals in there but whether they are in right area is another thing

It's a great idea to stay for a longer period of time. I hope you love it Andy.   Thumbs%20Up

Make sure that the accommodation you decide to use is suitably equipped for a long stay. Holiday apartments may have inadequate heating, 2 ring hobs, small freezers and so forth.

You will not need to pay a premium for a property located near the beaches either.  Seek a property where access to shops is convenient.  Access to bus services may be relevant.  Car parking? The land in the area is far from flat - but perhaps you should ensure that there are no big hills on your way to shops for instance.  You know the area so you have the advantage of knowing locations that you would prefer. My last bit is to ensure that you understand the agreements regarding utility bills.  Make sure the rates are fair, perhaps included in the agreed rate.

Enjoy. Cool

Hi,

Thanks very much for your help, the casa.sapo site I haven't seen before and looks like it might do the trick. I did notice a 2 bedroomed Marina apartment for a whopping 1500 Euros per month! I think that may be oput of my league for rental.

I'll keep looking for now and hopefully take in a trip sometime soon but once again thank you very much.

You'll get easily a 2 bed 'old Town' apartment for €600 to €800.
Britain and Portugal have a Treaty of Alliance since 1373! The oldest in the world between two sovereign states. Catarina de Bragança introduced the custom of drinking tea in England...
