Sorry to hear that Luau might be going downhill, I was always happy with the food, service and of course the ambience although it was never as busy as I thought it should have been although that was low season.
 
I know Jompre is good but where are Sao Domingos and Por do sol ?

We returned to Luau's two weeks ago with a little trepidation given this thread and the earlier comments.
It was as good as always, so much so we returned last week!
On both occassions it was near full, ambience as always was, service excellent, waiters attentive and food, spot on.
Both the owner and the female maitre de both visited our table to enquire if we and and all, was well, on both our visits, I can't fault it.
The sea bass first visit, prawn and monkfish second, both faultless and excellent plates of food, then the garlic prawn starter... oh man!

what's happened to pingo doce cafe.  When we were across last week it was empty each time we went in.  Usually it is packed out.
