Falesia Beach voted "best beach in Portugal"
And speaking as one who has spent many a day sitting & walking on it, I can't argue with that.
Magic place Smile
Why are they trying to attract a few twitchers when there are places like this that need promoting & there are hundreds of thousands of tourists out there who would willingly come if only they knew about it.

Top 10 beaches in Portugal Travellers’ Choice 2013 (TripAdvisor)

1 – Falésia, Albufeira

2 – Cascais, Lisbon

3 – Ponta da Piedade, Lagos

4 – Olhos D’Água, Albufeira

5 – Praia da Rocha, Portimão

6 – Dona Ana, Lagos

7 – Tróia, Grândola

8 – Guincho, Sintra

9 – Luz, Lagos

10 – Odeceixe, Aljezur

I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

Albufeira pier on Monday afternoon.

and the beach nearby showing the temporary cliff in the sand created by the strong waves. Also, I noticed that most of the shells have gone from this part.

Sea was a bit rough yesterday in town as well

But from this house (for sale) you would get a good view. Observe seagulls paddling in the outfall from the storm water drain, which was running fast and deep across the beach. That's why this one doesn't get a blue flag.

Friday 19th April about 530pm. All the warning signs and barriers are gone from the pier and several local youths were jumping into the sea from the end.
