Seen a lot of pictures and videos shared on Facebook, shocking! (anything and everything algarve Facebook)
As already mentioned the water level was up to the canopies on bar street, cars totally submerged and whole sections of roads washed away.

steven.vanessa, there are talks already  on going on facebook at this moment in time re donations and even people  offering  rooms/accommodations for those badly affected. Lets hope it takes off and the most affected get the  help they need .
It seems to me that  that culvert & walkway thing  they built/constructed  coming into the old town @ Liberdade has caused more trouble than it has prevention. Stern Smile

I have seen all photos and videos of the floods which have devastated Albufeira. I feel so sorry for businesses and any homes that have been affected. Let's hope that they can get all the help they need to get them back in business as soon as possible. It is going to be a very long job.

UPDATE 1130 - raining hard and it's being driven in on a gusty strong wind. That won't be any good for those trying to clear up in town and elsewhere.

It has been raining on and off during the night. Temperature at 1040am is 16.7C it's very cloudy and quite windy.  The radar shows more rain on the way but not anything like yesterday.

Maximum temperature today 20C. Tonight will still be a bit rainy, temperature 15C. Tuesday and Wednesday are also expected to see showers and perhaps longer periods of rain. Temperatures 18 - 20C daytime and 14 - 16 at night.

The rain eased off yesterday afternoon but returned later. Nowhere near as heavy as on Sunday but not pleasant nevertheless for those engaged in the clean up.

This morning there is quite a bit of dark cloud to the east, to the west it is about 50% blue and 50% cloud. Temperature at 0900 is 17.1C, humidity  is 88% which suggests rain the air.  There is very little wind. The radar show a number of small and isolated showers around, nothing too bad.

Top temperature today 20C, tonight will fall to 14 or 15C. Tomorrow will be cloudy but should be dry, Thursday could be quite warm, 23C, with a wind from the south but that is is quite likely to be bringing more rain with it.

Update 1130 - after a short break it is raining hard again.

It's raining again, not too hard but steadily since dawn. Temperature at 0935 is 18.4C. It's looks like the clouds are moving away for the time being but there is another group of showers coming this way. Temperature today will reach 20C, tonight will be another warm one with the most air coming from the south, no lower than about 17C.

The warm, southerly, air flow will be with us until the weekend at least, with temperatures rising to 23C. That good and dry weather could be set in until the middle of next week.
[With moderator hat on, can you put comments about floods, drains etc in the flood topic. I cannot reply to them here as everything I put in the weather topic goes on the front page of the albufeira.com weather page!]

It's very dull and grey this morning. A layer of dark grey cloud is everywhere except on the far distant horizon. It is not supposed to rain today but I would not be surprised by a few spots here and there.

Temperature at 0910am is 17.6C, it's very humid at 87%. There is very little wind.

Maximum temperature today 21C. Tonight we should have around 16C.

For Friday and Saturday, there will be plenty of sunshine, it will be dry and temperatures will be well above the seasonal average, possibly reaching 23C.

As a footnote to Sunday's weather, the official website is saying that 122mm or nearly 5 inches of rain fell in that 12 hours. There have been wetter days believe it or not!
