I am returned. I left Gatwick yesterday afternoon in foul wet weather and 14C, arrived to sun and 26C.

This morning at 8am the thermometer said 19C, now at 1000am it's 23. A week's smelly socks etc are washed and out drying. There's a bit of a breeze and skies are blue. Forecast for today is for 28C, staying sunny. Tonight down to 19 or 20C. Tuesday and Wednesday samey same perhaps hotter.

Further ahead, the week looks good until Saturday and Sunday, when the expectation is for some thundery showers.

Well yesterday topped out at 30, quite late in the afternoon.
Today IPMA say 31 and 33 for tomorrow!
It's currently 28, not a cloud to be seen and very little, if any, air movement, ie. breeze. It feels VERY hot and the temp is still rising! Gorgeous.

It's a bit windier up here in Páteo. 26.9C, not a cloud in the sky.

The current forecast is expecting 30 -33C until the weekend and the threat of rain after that seems to have gone. Night-times still only around 20 or 21, so keep warm.

A good thing for me is that I don't feel any hay fever symptoms although the wind did bring in a couple of mosquitos last night.

This is getting boring! (Not really!)
No breeze, no cloud, sun beating down, already 25 degree's and IPMA still say 33 for today! I think this is one of the reasons we love the Algarve, off to the pool it is then!
Oh, yesterday maxed out at 30.5, just half a degree off the forecast.

Yes it's going to be hot today. Temperature at 0930am is already 25.5C, forecast is for 31C. Clear skies, just a slight breeze at the moment. The air is quite dry, humidity thing says 48%.

Tonight will be warm again, 22C or thereabouts, tomorrow and Friday will be also around 30C, but perhaps a little cloudy at times.

The wind is coming from the east and south-east, the weekend forecast is for a very hot at 33 or 34C but possibly quite cloudy. The threat of any storms and rain has been removed.

Well, from about mid-day to late afternoon it got very windy, still as anything now though as it went as quickly as it came.
It still reached a very hot 32 though, gawd knows what it would have hit without the wind curtailing it.
A great day and now a glorious evening.

Scorchio!
25 degree's at 8.30am! IPMA forecasting 31 for today and 34 at the weekend.
Clear blue skies, the lightest wisp of occasional breeze, the sun turning the wick up by the minute, glorious.

It's not all good news Andrew.

Having to shelter under sun umbrellas on the beach, using up lashings of sun cream, running the aircon in the apartment, having to take frequent dips in the pool and above all, searching for bars to take cold drinks.

Wall to wall sunshine can take it out of you

I can imagine the suffering will be acute today.

Just past 930am and even here in Páteo it is 27.1 in the shade out the back.  Sunshine, blue skies and a gentle breeze ruffling the leaves on the trees.

IPMA says max today only 29, I think it will be a little more than that.

Tonight will be another warm one, 22C, so no need even for the summer duvet I think.

The hot weather will be with us for a few more days yet. But it is bringing the mosquitoes with it, my net over the bed has now been unfurled. Can't get me!

From the middle of next week things are forecast to return to more normal levels ie mid 20's.

Big Col, they are fair points you make, I was a little inconsiderate there, apologies! Wink

Tom, IPMA is still saying 31 on my computer but they have dropped the w/e 34 to 33!

Mid-morn update, quite a strong breeze has arrived, much like yesterday, seemingly from nowhere! But we're still up to 29 already.

It got quite windy during the day yesterday but still made the 32 degree's forecast! The wind died off late afternoon and gave us a very pleasent evening.
A light breeze at the mo, will it increase to wind as it has the past two days, we'll see. Blue skies, some cloud out to sea but not over us, let's hope it stays that way. Up to 25 already and again IPMA predict 32, more than acceptable!

An hour or so ago at 0935 my thermometer said 26.4C, now at 1045 is says 28.1C.

Forecast for today is 28C, so we are over that already here.

There is a light wind from the east which will veer round later to be more from the south-east. There is a tall bank of cloud way out to sea.

It's very dry air, thus not feeling all that sweaty! It could be slightly cooler tonight than it was last night but over the weekend we are looking at 31C daytimes, 24 or 25 at night. There could be more cloud and there is a small chance of a shower or two developing on Sunday.

In the interior, away from the sea breezes, temperatures are expected to be as high as 39C, which is 102F.

The outlook for next week is for daytime temps 29 -31C, which is above average for the time of year.

IPMA are on a roll, spot on with their 32 yesterday, let's hope they are right today as they say 33!
8.30 this morn was passing the 24 marker, again no breeze but it has surfaced the past few days and been quite windy until late afternoon, will that be the case today? A measure of how still it is, is how loudly we can hear the sea.
Some cloud about, in fact it's quite grey out to sea, but the sun is shining and all looks set fair for another very hot day.

Tropical kit will be worn.

Here in the windy heights of Pãteo it is 28.2C at 1035am, ie the same as yesterday and that's despite it being cloudy, high cloud but the sun is hidden.

It's very dry air, 42% on the humidity meter, so a good drying day.

Forecast for today is 30C, the wind will be stronger this afternoon and evening.

Tonight we should have 21 or 22C, tomorrow 31C again, maybe more. There could be thunderstorms in the north so it might be a rough ride for anyone flying tomorrow.

Monday will be as low 28C with a possibility of a shower or two.

Well, we don't want this! Cloudy. And cooler. Bah!
Currently 24, slight breeze, fairly bright considering the cloud is shutting the sun out with a now forecast high of 28.
Yesterday got quite cloudy as well which just curtailed the forecast high and kept us down to a fraction under 30 degree's.
We have a table booked for tonight, outside, that may have to change!
(edit/addendum:- the IPMA 10 day forecast is still saying 34 for today, unless they have inside knowledge, I don't think so!)
