I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

A year ago this week we got 1.4141 so at a rate 1.16 you get 250 Euro less for every £1,000 exchanged.
Our average transfer in a 12 month period is £10k so that's a difference of -2,500 Euro a year.
To put that into perspective, that equates to a price increase across the board of 21.5% on the same expenditure.
If the £ remains in the doldrums for an extended period it then will be time to seriously cut back on the number, & length, of visits and what we buy/spend while we are here.
It might even be time to think about selling up & make the exchange rate work in our favour - a sell price now of 80,000 Euro would gives us around £69k which would be £12,000 extra versus a year ago.
Food for thought Wink

we sold our place last Sept and the difference at todays rate Euros to GBP against  Sept 15   would have been an extra £20,000 for us.
