1.205 for cash yesterday.

That's 8% more than this time last year. Spend, spend, spend!

Going down as the big euro-buying season gets underway. People converting £1000 have lost 13 euros in the past week ....

Strange. Got £1000 2 days ago and got a rate of 1.24 with fairfx. It's actually up to just over 1.24 today. And a week ago it was 1.23. Happy enough.

yes ... you get a good deal with these top cards (if they don`t charge a fee) ... however, most tourists don`t use them. Official rate right now 1.2526 ... now 14.5 euros down per £1000 on the peak of two weeks ago.  Post Office is giving 1.226 (online) ... that will be less in branches. Tesco is giving 1.231, but not every store has a bank.

Maybe someone will check the rate in Albufeira this weekend ?

Gone back up today. Perhaps all those people who bought them & forced the rate down last week decided not to go on holiday after all & sold them back
I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

Tip ... the rate has gone up each of the past three MONDAYS ... but general direction still down. Post Office, Tesco`s, M&S, etc ... all giving around 1.225 online ... less on the ground.
