Did a walk round the old town today and have never seen it so busy. The weather probably was a factor keeping a few off the beach but the streets/lanes and bars/restaurants were full.
Never put off something that you could do today

Cavern bar was packed to the doors yesterday with a  lot of chaps from Lancashire watching the football. All the tourist bars around the square were pretty much full.

This last week or so has been extremely busy. As I said elsewhere, if it wasn't for absence of families with children in tow, it could be August. Yesterday's murk apart, the weather also.

If you want to walk through a ghost town, go to Albufeira new town ( Strip) Apart from the stag and hen parties it is practically empty.

Strange how we had the busiest day so far this year and one of our highest ever numbers for lunches on Sunday and certainly not all stag and hens.

Can`t quite agree with that having had to push a pushchair up and down there today. It was plenty busy enough.
Having said that regards Stags/Hens/Birthdays in a couple of years time that might be right.
When we first started coming when our Daughter was seven years old...15 years ago...if the strip was like it is now we would have come the once and never come back. We used to quite happily go out up there on a night but would not entertain it now.
Mind the prices the hotels are charging now because of the extra visitors coming here instead of less safe places they might price everybody out anyway.
