Last week we saw 7 turtles at the Salgados lagoon at one time. I only had my phone with me & could only photograph from above but they were interesting to watch.

As promised several months ago - the infamous Hoopoe having his lunch near our apartment. I was no more than 3ft away while taking these pictures and he wasn't at all bothered.

I hate how peopleï compare Frank Zappa to God. I mean, he's cool and great and nice and everything, but he's no Zappa.

We have Hoopoe's (sp) in our garden most mornings also, beautifully plumage (doff the cap to Monty Python there), but be careful, if they get spooked do you know what they throw at you? Lol!

Very obliging of them to fly into your lens. Have the seagulls attacked your drone again?

Well 3 of them tried it on once and I stood my ground and they then just flew off after a couple of minutes and I haven't had any problems since.

The pussies who live on the viewing platform weren't too enthused about this morning's weather.

But this one, possibly a relative of mr No Ears, had found a spot out of the wind.

Demanding children were keeping parents busy at Albufeira station on Thursday.

Happy pussies this afternoon, a couple of people brought some food for them. A couple didn't stir much though.

The baby birds at the station are getting bigger. My camera cannot capture the wings though!

A couple of resident gekkos at our villa over the last two weeks. They always appeared next to the outside light which is where most of the insects appeared after sunset.

Have you ever picked one up? Their skin is so soft.

Moving on, this little wonder of nature parked itself on an outside lamp for a couple of hours rest yesterday, beautiful. (Yes, I know the lamp needs cleaning, it's the sahara sand!)

Anyone know what this little fella is?
About 20mm front to back, moved very quickly when it ran, quite jerky movements.
(PS. the sand and cr4p on the light in my previous post, as with all other outside lights, has now been cleaned! LOL )
